Hi, I'm Joe Cable owner of California Custom Finishing. My passion for finishing developed as a child watching my grandfather run his finishing business.  I was able to get my start as a teenager working for him, and then later in a few high-end shops in the Bay Area.  My dreams of owning my own shop were realized in 2003 when I started this business in a small, industrial space in Petaluma.  Due to the high prices of the North Bay, I relocated to the Central Valley. Here, I am afforded lower overhead and am able to pass the savings onto my customers.

Our Philosophy

  It has always been my goal to provide quality work at a value price. We are able to deliver this, in part with our staffing methods. We keep our staff small but experienced! I've found that a small, tight-knit group of professionals can outperform almost any number of journeymen finishers.

  Customer service is another one our hallmarks. We strive to match our customer service with the quality of our work. "You've got to do all of the little things, even if they're not always noticed.", my grandfather would say when speaking on customer service. I took that advice and have been doing it that way since day one.
